The short answer: MOMO Pro, from Mometic, is a low-cost momentum stream that runs in a browser. Traders who move on usually want to build their own scans, test them, or get AI trade signals with a plan attached. For all three, Trade Ideas is our pick; Scanz, Benzinga Pro, Day Trade Dash and Finviz Elite each fit a narrower job.

Investopedia: Best Short Term Stock Screener, 2024
MOMO Pro is cheap to start, from $27 a month, and runs in a browser or as an installed web app on supported devices. Every tier covers 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET, the stream puts high/low breaks, halts and news in one view, and paid plans have a five-day intro period.
MOMO Pro's guide centers on finding movers: MOMO scans the whole U.S. stock market in real time for stocks on the move. Traders who also want to test and refine what they find look at Trade Ideas, where a custom measurement from the Formula Editor can go into a strategy, OddsMaker backtests it with breakdowns by time of day, price and symbol, and Holly re-picks her strategies each night from fresh backtests. Those two, OddsMaker and Holly AI Signals, are included with TI Premium. The closed loop on Data Difference puts the steps in order.
Past results, including backtests, don't guarantee future results.
Mometic's comparison center gives Trade Ideas prices of “$118.00/mo” and “$228.00/mo.” On October 13, 2026, TI Standard was $127 a month and Premium $254, or $1,068 and $2,136 billed yearly. The same table says Trade Ideas “does not have ORB support”; in fact there are opening range breakout and breakdown alerts at 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 30 and 60 minutes, starting with the 1-minute breakout and the 1-minute breakdown.
It also says Trade Ideas does not stream, has no Mac support, no market meters, no news and only a support chatbot for AI. Streaming Alerts (Scanner) can fire on every trade. TI Pro runs on a Mac through Parallels. The Web Dashboard needs no download, works in any browser, and includes Market Pulse and stock details and news. You can open a free account and check that for yourself. The AI Assistant comes with every TI Pro plan, and Holly AI Signals with TI Premium. Our Trade Ideas vs MOMO Pro page goes row by row.
One row in that table holds up: it lists Trade Ideas with “No API access,” next to a webhook for MOMO Pro alerts. Trade Ideas keeps its data and alerts in its own software and has no public API or webhook for outside tools. You scan, rank Top Lists (Screeners) and ask the AI Assistant there. Brokerage Plus places one-click orders with brokers such as IBKR, TradeStation, E*TRADE and Alpaca, and on TI Premium, Money Machine automates them.

Best for scans you build, opening range alerts, OddsMaker and Holly AI
MOMO Pro streams momentum. Trade Ideas lets you decide what momentum means. Streaming Alerts can fire on every trade in U.S.-listed stocks, Top Lists (Screeners) re-rank every 15 seconds, and the Channel Bar has ready-made channels in TI Pro on both plans.
Replaces: The MOMO stream and alerts, plus testing, AI signals and a configurable desk.
Opening range, seven ways. Breakout and breakdown alerts track the opening range over the first 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 30 and 60 minutes; see the 2-minute breakout and the 15-minute breakdown. In MOMO Pro, the ORB tool sits on Ultra.
How far the combinations go. Pair any of the 308 alerts with any of the 249 filters, each filter limited by a min and max you type. 191 alerts add their own setting, such as the 0 to 366 day lookback on a New High or the move size on Running Up Now. Technical alerts include a 15-minute MACD cross above signal, a 5-minute hammer and a 15-minute linear regression up trend. Picking one alert and two filters already gives 9,571,560 combinations, and the full range is effectively unlimited.
Worth knowing: U.S.-listed stocks only. TI Pro runs on Windows, or on a Mac with Parallels, and the browser-based Web Dashboard needs no download and carries Top Lists, Races, TreeMaps, Market Pulse, Picture in Picture charts, stock details and news, and the Unusual Options Activity channel. Holly AI Signals, OddsMaker and Money Machine sit in the higher tier, TI Premium.
Pick Trade Ideas if you would like a daily set of Holly AI Signals, each with an entry and a stop to manage risk, and OddsMaker testing; both come with TI Premium. Describe a scan or screen in plain English and the AI Assistant sets it up, or assemble it yourself from 308 alerts and 249 filters in a point-and-click menu, no code required. If the filter you need doesn't exist, write it in the Formula Editor and run it through OddsMaker to see every event it would have caught.
Best fit: MOMO Pro users who want to build and test their own setups and get AI signals with a plan, and new traders who want the premium experience.
Best for a real-time scanner with news and filing scans
Scanz is a scanner you configure. Beside price and volume scans, it runs news and SEC filing scans in real time, so a catalyst can trigger a match.
Replaces: The MOMO stream and keyword news triggers, with Level 2 data added.
Worth knowing: on the Starter tier, scans run one at a time. Scanz facts were checked on scanz.com on October 6, 2026.
Best fit: Traders who want news and filings to drive their scans.
Best for headlines and audio squawk
Benzinga Pro starts from the news. It adds a real-time scanner on its Essential plan, a calendar suite and a squawk that reads headlines aloud.
Replaces: MOMO's news feed and keyword filtering, with squawk on top.
Worth knowing: the scanner is an Essential feature. Checked on Benzinga's pricing page on October 6, 2026.
Best fit: Catalyst traders who want the story behind a runner first.
Best for Warrior Trading's preset momentum scanners
Day Trade Dash is the scanner software Warrior Trading sells, with 24 presets, TradingView-powered charts and a curated news feed in one browser window.
Replaces: The MOMO stream, swapped for presets built around Ross Cameron's method.
Worth knowing: the chat room and live stream are sold separately. Checked on warriortrading.com on October 6, 2026.
Best fit: Momentum traders following Ross Cameron's lessons.
Best for quick screens at a low price
Finviz is a browser-based screener built around market heat maps. Elite adds real-time quotes, advanced filters and alerts to the free version.
Replaces: MOMO's gap and top-gainer lists, for traders who check in rather than watch a stream.
Worth knowing: a live event scanner is not listed. Checked on finviz.com on October 6, 2026.
Best fit: Traders who screen once or twice a session and want a low price.
Trade Ideas was built from day one to find what is moving right now; MOMO Pro was built around browser-based momentum scanning. Traders who want live discovery often lean Trade Ideas and keep MOMO Pro for its strengths.
Picking MOMO Pro or Trade Ideas is your call, so here are the facts on our end.
If MOMO Pro's preset alerts feel thin, Trade Ideas gives you a bigger toolbox. Opening range alerts come in 14 versions, from 1 to 60 minutes, on both plans. You mix hundreds of Streaming Alerts (Scanner) with filters and set a min and max on each, and the AI Assistant can do it from a sentence. Trade Ideas also names its data: every US exchange, plus off-exchange trades and the NBBO. TI Premium adds OddsMaker backtesting and Holly AI Signals. The prices are higher, so start with a free account, no card.
MOMO Pro: Pro $27, Pro+ $47 and Ultra $67 a month, or $290, $480 and $640 a year.
Trade Ideas: TI Standard, $127 a month or $1,068 a year, covers real-time data, Streaming Alerts, Top Lists (Screeners), paper trading and the AI Assistant. TI Premium, $254 a month or $2,136 a year, adds Holly AI Signals, OddsMaker and Money Machine.
MOMO Pro is the lower-priced option. With Trade Ideas, the extra goes to a database built in-house and reworked over more than two decades, Streaming Alerts that may fire on every trade, a 15-second Top List cycle, and 308 alerts and 249 filters you can mix freely.
If you want to build your own scans, test them and get AI signals, our pick is Trade Ideas, and since we make it, compare it with the others. Scanz suits traders who want news and SEC filing scans beside a real-time scanner, Benzinga Pro suits headline traders, Day Trade Dash suits Warrior Trading students, and Finviz Elite suits simple screens.
Finviz Elite listed $39.50 a month or $299.50 a year when we checked, and Finviz also has a free, delayed version. MOMO Pro itself starts at $27 a month, so most alternatives on this list cost more.
Yes. Trade Ideas has breakout and breakdown alerts for the opening range over the first 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 30 and 60 minutes, included with both TI Standard and TI Premium. MOMO ORB is part of the MOMO Pro Ultra tier.
Yes. TI Pro can run on a Mac through Parallels, and the Trade Ideas Web Dashboard runs in a browser with no download. It covers Top Lists (Screeners), Races, TreeMaps, Market Pulse, charting with Picture in Picture, stock details and news, and an Unusual Options Activity channel. Streaming Alerts, Holly and OddsMaker are in TI Pro, not the Dashboard.
Trade Ideas has OddsMaker on TI Premium, which tests any alert you build as the event, with no code. We did not find a backtester listed on the pages we checked for Scanz, Benzinga Pro, Day Trade Dash or Finviz Elite, or on the MOMO Pro plans page.
No. There is no public API or webhook, and Trade Ideas does not let outside services hook into its alerts or data. Everything runs in Trade Ideas' own apps: alerts, Top Lists, the AI Assistant and, with TI Premium, Brokerage Plus and Money Machine for orders through your broker.
